The United States “has plunged itself into an all-powerful enigma”

Sky News host Erin Molan said the United States ‘has plunged itself into an almighty enigma’ as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, expressing a desire to visit Taiwan, was “treated appallingly”.

“And there is much more at stake than their own well-being,” Ms Molan said.

“We depend on the United States for peace, stability and security in our region. I wish we didn’t, but we do.”

Ms Molan said China was doing “what it does best – intimidating, threatening to intervene militarily if the trip continues”.

“If Pelosi doesn’t go to Taiwan on his Asian tour, it looks like China has won – humiliating and weak for the United States.
