Scott joins other club veterans in defenders Clayton Daniels and Nazeer Allie, with the pair also having been drafted in to try and help the club secure promotion to the DStv Premiership.

With the three veterans boasting over 15 years of playing in the Premier Soccer League, manager Shaun Bartlett has a wealth of experience to help him achieve his ambition next season.

Daniels (38) and Allie (37) join Spurs from Maritzburg United in KwaZulu-Natal.

Scott, who is also 37, has joined his boyhood club Stellenbosch FC. Scott started his career when the club was still called Ajax Cape Town before being renamed Cape Town Spurs in 2020.

Announcing the signing of Scott, Spurs said he was the final piece of the puzzle to strengthen their squad.

“Last piece of the puzzle. Our very own midfield maestro, Granwald Scott,” the club wrote on their Twitter account.

Looking at the current Spurs squad, the team is a mix of experienced and young players which is very important in the Championship where the race for automatic promotion is intense.

Spurs have struggled to return to the top flight since being relegated to the lower league in the 2017/18 season.

The club’s management hope the addition of Scott and others will help them in their quest to return to the DStv Premiership.
