Queensland scraps mask mandates on public transport

The Queensland government has followed other Australian states and dropped mandatory mask-wearing on public transport.

On Tuesday, Queensland Health Minister Yvette D’Ath said mandates would be scrapped on public transport services around Queensland from midnight on Tuesday.

However, masks will still be mandatory for those who may be close contacts or for people who have recently had the virus.

The mandate had been in place since December 18.
