Preparatory football: the defensive back position is loaded with talent

Get ready for some fierce competition to see who is the best of the best when it comes to the talent-laden defenseman position in Southern California.

Just trying to break into the starting lineup at St. John Bosco or Gardena Serra is a challenge. The Braves’ safety duo of Ty Lee senior and Peyton Woodyear junior is impressive. There is also RJ Jones, Jshawn Frausto-Ramos and Marcelles Williams. Aaron Williams, a Louisville clerk, is also expected to transfer to St. John Bosco from Corona Centennial.

Serra has three stars in Rodrick Pleasant, Dakoda Fields and Jason Mitchell.

Maliki Crawford of Oxnard Pacifica is a 6-4 cornerback with athleticism and speed. I just signed up for USC. Another USC commitment is Rancho Cucamonga’s safety Christian Pierce.

Long Beach Poly’s Daylen Austin is an LSU commitment.

Simi Valley’s Sean Brown is an aggressive and tough cornerback from Colorado.

Marquess Gallegos de Chaminade had four interceptions as a sophomore.

Paul’s St. Aidan Bravo is an exceptional athlete who plays defensive back and receiver.
