Jackson tackled Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks as Bills linebacker Tremaine Edmunds came on.
Unfortunately, Edmunds missed the target and slammed into his own teammate’s head, knocking Jackson’s head and neck back in violent scenes.
The force of the shot left Jackson motionless on the turf as coaches rushed to his side as a silence settled around the stadium.
For several minutes, the Bills star was surrounded by medical staff as the trolley first exited the tunnel before an ambulance appeared.
The ambulance was brought to the field as Jackson was slowly loaded and taken away as fans held their breath.
The Bills provided an update on the defensive star shortly after the ambulance left the stadium.
“CB Dane Jackson was taken to ECMC for evaluation of a neck injury. He will undergo a CT scan and X-ray. Jackson has full movement in his extremities,” a statement read.
The Bills entered the halftime break holding a 17-7 lead against the Titans, but every fan watching cared about Jackson.
“Man I pray for Dane Jackson…this is terrible,” one fan wrote.
Another added: “Hoping the best for Dane Jackson. So sad to see an injury like that.
Journalist Alyssa Rae wrote: “Dane Jackson’s injury is hard to watch. I’m praying he’s okay.
Sports anchor Spencer Davidson wrote: “Absolutely deafening silence in Orchard Park. Such a scary scene. Thoughts with Dane Jackson and hope for a speedy recovery.
