Was Pittsburgh Steelers rookie catcher George Pickens or Odell Beckham Jr. who made that insane one-handed grab?

During Thursday night’s game between the Steelers and Cleveland Brownsquarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw a deep pass down the right sideline intended for Pickens, but it seemed a little too far.

That was until Pickens extended his right arm and did his best Beckham impression, latching onto the ball and holding it to his body after hitting the ground hard.

The 36-yard reception set up a Steelers touchdown drive that was capped off by a Najee Harris run into the end zone. Rookie running back Jaylen Warren also made some great runs to get Pittsburgh into the red zone.

Beckham’s take was probably more impressive when you put them side by side – given he had a Dallas Cowboys the cornerback draped over him who committed pass interference. He also went for a touchdown.

But it was Beckham’s rookie year in a prime-time Sunday night football game. Pickens makes his own statement on national television.

The current free agent wide receiver took to Twitter to react to Pickens’ take and came away impressed.

He also made a few statements before the game this week. Pickens, a Georgia product, said he felt open “90% of the time” in the Steelers’ loss to the New England Patriots last Sunday.

“I’m just saying that because I’m a big guy running in the low 4.4,” Pickens said via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I always have a step on someone, and my step is naturally longer than the other person, and I’m actually fast. I’m always [going to] I have a pitch and I still feel like 99% of the time I’m open even if the ball comes in the air and [the defender] takes time to catch up. ยป

Going into this game, Pickens had just two catches for 22 yards as the Steelers try to find their rhythm in the passing game with new quarterback Trubisky, who replaces retired Ben Roethlisberger.
