Argentina made two changes to their starting line-up and three to the bench for a Rugby League final round tie against South Africa in Durban on Saturday.
Center Matias Moroni and veteran winger Juan Imhoff were promoted following the Pumas’ 36-20 loss to world champion Springboks in Buenos Aires last Saturday.
Moroni replaces Matias Orlando and Imhoff takes over from Lucio Cinti as Argentina look to end a two-game losing streak in the Southern Hemisphere Championship.
Right prop Mayco Vivas, loose striker Pedro Rubiolo and winger Bautista Delguy replace Thomas Gallo, Rodrigo Bruni and Moroni on the bench.
‘turn the tables’
Australian-born coach Michael Cheika says the Pumas are desperate to atone for a poor performance in the Argentine capital last Saturday.
“The Springboks silenced our crowd and it was hard to take,” he said. “Now we want to turn things around and beat the world champions in front of their fans.”
New Zealand and South Africa each have 14 points, Australia 10 and Argentina nine going into the final round of Rugby League’s most thrilling game since its launch 10 years ago.
